Welcome

Good morning world!

I sit here this morning listening to the birds chirping, feeling the cool ND breeze through my screen door and drinking my almost cold coffee. I am finishing up what I hope is my last masters work ever.. and nervously embarking on a new journey in my life. While one of my dreams comes to an end (completing my masters in reading education.. literally just submitted my final paper about 3 seconds ago),  I am now beginning another.

Ever since I was a little girl, writing has been a big part of my life. As an only child in a small ND town, writing was my outlet.. my friend, and my confidant. It was also my passion and I thought someday my career. When I was little most days you could find me writing small stories, poems, and in a journal or diary. Writing came so naturally to me and it is truly what makes me happy and feel myself.

I always thought Id end up as a journalist for some big magazine or at least a newspaper. In high school, I worked for our small town newspaper, wrote for our school paper, and for the school's yearbook. I thought it was my destiny to write for a living. Well, life got in the way and instead I followed my other dream and became an elementary teacher in a small rural North Dakota town. I absolutely love being a teacher, don't get me wrong. It is rewarding, challenging, and every day is different.. with each year providing a fresh start and new opportunities.

But.. I thought it was time.. time to explore my next dream. This blog will be all about motherhood, wifehood, teaching, and small-town living. I will take you with me on this wonderful, crazy, bumpy journey called life.

I will end my first blog today with this prayer:
"Dear Lord, please help me on this new journey. As I embark on a new challenge and chapter in my life, please help me find ways to bring you along with me. Help me to use you
to inspire others through my writing. Please help me to find ways to bring people to your light. These last few months have been so hard Lord. With the pandemic, riots, and so much uncertainty in our world, I pray that you bring comfort and peace to our world. Please be with all those that need you right now, especially those that don't even realize they do. In your name, I pray. Amen"
